I find this work book by Joe Friedman to be very intuitive and informative. It has helped me get started with my own dream interpretation. I now record my dreams regularly, and I see my dreams in a completely different light after having read this book.

We get simple and down to earth guidance on how to remember our dreams, how to improve the recall and how to sharpen our senses to remember and experiencing the images more vividly. We also learn how to organize a dream diary so the content will make sense to us when we read it several years after writing.

The author has included a chapter about what happens in our body when we sleep. We learn about the chemicals that are active in our brain during sleep and how they work as opposed to the chemicals dominating our brain when we are awake. We also learn about our sleep cycle and how the dream phases develops trough the night.

We also learn how dreams can be used to solve problems. Because we are at our most creative when we sleep, and our brain is able to draw connections where it would see no connection in a waken state, we can use this tool to actually program ourselves to solve a problem we are struggling with in our sleep. The author has added lots of examples on this process to give us a better understanding of how we can do this.

Then the author has written a short orientation about some of the big names in dream theory, Freud, Jung, Hillman, and Boss. This gives those of us who are completely new to this topic basic background info on the theories which have lead up to the way we work with dreams today.

Finally we are given concrete tools to work with our dreams. We are given several different methods and we can choose to have a thorough look at our dream or we can use a ten minutes approach when we are short of time. I particularly found this section very useful.
As I was already able to recall my dreams, I could move on to the analyzing part very rapidly. I also appreciated the many different approaches outlined.

There is also a chapter about sharing dreams and the benefits and oddities that happens when several people meet regularly to discuss their dreams. We also get lots of examples here on how people in a dream group dream related dreams.

We are also introduced to the phenomenon lucid dreaming. We get tips on how to achieve lucidity during a dream and how we can use this powerful state of mind to improve ourselves and our abilities.

The last chapter discusses spiritual and paranormal experiences during dreaming. We are for instance given examples of people who dream about future events, how some people experience telepathic abilities during dreaming and lots more.

My dreams still seem very odd and the natural laws somehow keep bending. But trough the systematic analysis of the dream images I am starting to get behind the images and draw the parallels to my waken reality. Although I have not yet experienced lucid dreams or any paranormal information, my dreams give me a big insight into my real emotions and attitudes. And this knowledge also lets me start the work of adjusting my life to have a better overall life experience.

When you have a low personal energy and getting things done seems like a heavy burden you have to wear climbing a steep cliff, you get a loud and clear signal from your mind and body: you need to change something in your life. Explaining why you feel this way by focusing on something outside of you will never be a good explanation as your life always is a mirror of something you do inside your mind.

Even if your personal energy is caused by something you do in your mind you can increase it in many different ways. Let us group them:

Your thinking habits and how you pay heed to your mind
Your level of self-respect.
Your eating habits
Your level of physical activity
Your habits of restoring your energy

Making changes within these five habitual behaviors will have a conclusive impact on your personal energy level.

1) Change your thinking habits
Do you usually tend to focus on the negative stuff in your life? Well, you are not alone as most people tend to do so. However have this in mind: The positive things in your life are just as real as the negative stuff. By not focusing upon them you prevent the energy boost they normally would give you.

Action step: Start changing this bad thinking habit by searching for all the positive aspects in your life and write them down in a notebook. Do this every night. Start every morning by reading the list you wrote the evening before. I bet you start to notice a change in your energy level almost instantly.

2) Increase your level of self-respect
If you have a tendency of putting everything you want in life hindmost everything else, you don’t have enough self-respect to stay firmly behind what you want. This is a highly effective way of draining your energy. You may do this because you think you are not as valuable as everybody else. This is a false belief. The fact that we humans behave otherwise does not change the fact that every one of us is born as equal to everybody else. All of us come with the ability to think, observe, reflect and accept.

Action step: To change this self-destructive behavior you need to start speaking positively to yourself. Even if you feel resistance and that what you say is not true, know that this is a reaction growing out of a false belief. Decide to create a positive and acceptance inner self talk about yourself and what you want.

3) Improve your eating habits
Luckily the focus upon changing poor eating habits is growing. If you know in your heart that you have a potential for improvement here, then put it into action. You owe that to yourself.

Action step: Back up your self-respect by feeding your body with nutritious and healthy food.

4) Get more physical active
Our body is not constructed to not be used. Then it gets rusty and starts to hurt. When your body hurts you start pity yourself. This perspective leads into negative thinking which drains your energy. Physical laziness is rooted within negative self talk.

Action step: You need to do two things: a) Start to observe what you say to yourself in different situations and replace it with positive inner self talk. B) Decide to find a physical activity you like to do and start doing it.

5) Replace draining habits of how you spend your free time with energy boosting activities
Taking time off from what we normally do is important in order to restore our level of energy. The question is: How do you do that? Does your way of taking time off restore your energy or drain it?

Action step: Be honest with yourself as the only one who will suffer if you lie to yourself about this is you. Change your habits if they do not support you. Make sure your new activities are fun to do. Personally I started wearing a a weighted vest to add more resistance to my daily workouts. It makes me feel a lot stronger. Here are some great options if you want to try it out.

When making changes to restore your personal energy I recommend you work two ways simultaneously:

Make changes in your mind to support practical action steps.
Make changes in what you usually do to support changes in your thinking habits.

Also make sure you drop thinking in terms of “should” and “ought to”. Instead think this: “I want to do this, because…” and “I decide to do this because…”

When you do this whole heartedly I can guarantee you that your personal energy will have a boost. When your personal energy vibrate positively the law of attraction will start work in your favor!

In today’s world, we are experiencing more uncertain and troubling times than ever before. Every time you turn on the TV or get on the computer, it seems there is always more news that just weighs you down. On top of that, you have your own personal issues to deal with. This “negative storm” can cause someone to feel stuck, lost and full of anxiety. It is the fear of the unknown that builds up in our mind and takes over like a dark cloud. This dark cloud follows us and rains on us, making us negative in our personal and professional lives. As humans, we sometimes focus on the negative and stay under that negative cloud that we created. We must understand that we can walk from under this cloud at anytime, and we have the power to make our days sunny and bright.

I am sharing with you 7 habits that I have found to be the most effective when creating and maintaining positive mental attitude along with my GOYA (Get off Your Attitude) Tip to get you moving.

1. Think Positive

Thinking Positive is probably the most important of the habits that I can share with you, because you know that everything starts in the mind. Thoughts turn into feelings, which then turn into actions. If you tell yourself you can’t do something, you will ultimately find failure. If you tell yourself you can do it, you have increased your chances of accomplishing that goal. Keep your mind clear and your thoughts positive. This habit will bring great success to you in your personal and professional life.

GOYA Tip: When a negative thought comes into your mind, instantly swap it with a positive one. An example of this would be thinking about a child’s smile or someone you know. This will keep the mind clear of any negative thoughts.

2. Focus on the Future

Too many of us dwell on our past and let it block our vision of our future. We think about something disturbing that happened to us or we think about something that someone has told us that upset us, and we play it over and over like an old movie reel. We need to break this bad habit and visualize on what we want our future to be. The next time your past is haunting you, instantly think about something in your future. Write down your goals and create a vision board. This way you can always focus and see the positive things you want in life.

GOYA Tip: Make a list of all things that you want in life. Go online and find it, print a picture of each item. Pin them up on a board in your office or home where you can see them. Look at this vision board daily and visualize yourself possessing all of these items.

3. Read and Listen to Positive Information

One of the best ways to create a positive mindset is by filling it with positive information. Too many times we get our information from the wrong places. We get focused on the negative news of the world and it bleeds into our subconscious. We need to learn to be careful on what we let into our mind. To get out of the negative rut, we need to get in the habit of picking up an inspirational book, find a positive article on the web or just listen to a positive inspirational CD. These positive items will open your mind, encourage, inspire, and teach you how to create a positive mindset. (Some of my favorite inspirational authors are Zig Ziglar, Julio Melara & Brian Tracy)

GOYA Tip: Put a Positive CD in your car, home stereo or in at your office. Listen to it for the length of the car ride or 30 minutes in your home or office. Try to implement that one new positive idea that you learned into what you are doing that particular day.

4. Plan Ahead

Using time efficiently helps to maintain a positive attitude. The best way to do this is to plan your day and your week ahead of time. We need to adopt this habit so that we won’t let procrastination take over and keep us from reaching our goals. The habit of planning and focusing on your priorities and important tasks will help you accomplish more in less time. This very act will keep your life in check and help you stay on track towards your goals and let you know stay aware of your accomplishments.

GOYA Tip: Each day sit at your desk for ten minutes and map out your next day. This exercise can save two hours the next day.

5. Get Around Positive People

Stay away from negative and pessimistic people. Surround yourself with positive people, and you will be more positive! This is a simple and crucial habit in reaching a positive lifestyle. Negative people can rob you of your energy and your drive. We must learn to get around people that are like minded, have goals and the ones that have courage to go forward in life.

GOYA Tip: Think about someone that you respect and has the positive traits that you want to possess. Try to meet with that person frequently so that their positive attitude will become part of you.

6. Be Grateful

Take some time everyday to be grateful and thankful for everything that you have in your life right now. It is easy for us to focus on what we don’t have or things we didn’t accomplish. Find these great things and recognize them. The very thought of what you are grateful for will help you maintain a positive attitude in your life. This habit is one of the best ways to turn negative thinking into positive thinking instantly.

GOYA Tip: Write down the top 10 things you are grateful for and read them over at least 10 times daily!

7. Exercise More

The habit of daily exercise will help you improve your mood, along with helping to against stress and depression. This healthy habit will keep you living longer and living a healthier lifestyle. Remember exercising will also make you feel better about yourself. When you feel better about yourself, it breeds confidence which will help you in your personal and professional life.

GOYA Tip: Go for a 30 minute brisk walk on a treadmill or around the neighborhood. This is a great exercise to create positive thinking.

If you follow and implement these 7 life changing habits daily, they will bring you the success and happiness you desire. These habits will take you from underneath that dark cloud of negativity and bring you out into the sunshine of a positive lifestyle. I think everyone wants to be happy. I for sure do! Only problem is, being happy is not always as easy as it might seem. I find a lot of the time my thoughts dwell around problems or worries in my life. And I spend to less time just being me and being happy.

I want to change this and my biggest New Years Resolution this year is “Lighten up, play and enjoy life”. That’s what I’m going to try to do this year!

I’ve been following Gretchen Rubins blog for some time where she runs The Happiness Project. Here she investigates into what happiness is and how to get there. She sends out videos and articles with tips and suggestions and reflections on the topic.

This year she is again kicking of The 2011 Happiness Challenge. Each month of the next year will have a dedicated theme or area of life where she suggests techniques and actions to take, to experience more happiness. I’ve signed up for the challenge, and I urge you to do the same!

I will try to incorporate the topics and suggestions into my own plans on enjoying my life more in 2011. This year I am focusing on not setting too many goals for my self, as last year was too hectic with too many tasks to accomplish, leaving hardly any time to actually enjoy myself.

So this year I have only five main goals that I want to reach:

1. Spend more quality time with my son.
2. Make time for meditation, healing and pampering myself (weekly).
3. Keep this blog alive.
4. Take no more than three courses in self development.
5. Keep developing my intuition and healing abilities.

In addition to these goals I have several minor goals that don’t span the entire year. By making smaller goals I try to avoid putting too much pressure on myself which only stresses me out.

For instance I want to get back into doing The Five Tibetan rites again. I learned these very simple gymnastic exercises several years ago and have been doing them on and off ever since (mostly off, to be honest). However I think these rites are an excellent way of keeping the physical body fit, and it also helps balance the seven energy centres (chakras).

So my goal is to do them every day for the entire month of January. At the end of January I will decide weather or not to continue doing them also in February and so on. This way I don’t have to commit to doing them every day for the entire year.

Still I hope that by the end of the year I have made this a regular habit and an integrated part of my daily routine. But for now I am only focusing on doing them each day for the month of January.

I also have a few other minor goals but I try not to make too many of them. This way I leave space and flexibility for adding new goals throughout the year. Sometimes new ideas just pop up, and I want to have space in my schedule to follow these moments of inspiration. Having an idea, pursuing it and accomplish what I set out to do, is also very important for me to feel happiness and fulfilment in my life.

Whenever most of us think about exercise, we think about going into the gym and lifting weights or perhaps running on the treadmill. However, you can exercise any part of your body and reap the benefits of that exercise.

The type of activity we do in the gym is often very difficult to do and we may tend to push the limits on occasion. There are some other ways that we can exercise effortlessly and see some benefits. Although this may surprise you, listen to this exercise and what it can do for you.

The exercise is what it is commonly known as facial yoga, and very few people are aware that it even exists. As a matter of fact it has been used for thousands of years in ancient Chinese medicine in order to help the face look more youthful.

By just spending a few minutes every day doing this activity, you can help tighten the skin on your face and remove wrinkles, giving yourself a much younger appearance.

How is facial yoga done? And exactly how effortless is this exercise?

There are actually several different facial yoga exercises that you can do on a daily basis. For example, one of them is known as the lion and in this exercise you would scrunch your face up as tight as you can possibly get it and then open your eyes wide and stick your tongue out as far as it can go. This helps to stretch the face muscles in different ways and can go a long way in helping you to be able to remove some of your wrinkles.

You may also do other facial yoga exercises, such as looking to the right as far as possible, holding that pose and then doing the same to the left.

A simple search on the Internet will show you all of the facial yoga poses that are typically used. As long as you are moving your face in a way that stretches the skin out and moves the muscles, you can make a difference in the way you look.

It really requires very little effort on your part and as long as you are consistent with your efforts, you would be surprised at how much of a difference these exercises will make.

In an effort to stay physically fit and healthy, people will go to great lengths. Unfortunately, not all of us have the ability or the time to be able to take all the precautions that are necessary in order for us to maintain our health to an optimum level.

That doesn’t mean, however, that we should simply allow our health to slide as a result of our busy lifestyle. There are some things that you can do which take no effort on your part in order to make sure that you are as fit and healthy as possible.

One of the things that you can do is to drink tea on a regular basis. Although not all tea is created equal, many of them have surprisingly healthy properties that will assist you in all of your fitness goals.

So make sure that you are making green tea as well as a variety of other teas a part of your everyday life. Not only will they help you to maintain your fitness and fashion goals, many of them will help to calm the mind and to make you healthy from the inside out.

If you are interested in eating tasty food and still watching your weight then you probably realize that eating fast food everyday is not such a good idea. Stop and think about it for a second. Imagine eating burgers, pizza, pasta, cookies, cakes and pies everyday. They taste great but come on, is it such a good idea? I say that as a joke, but more people than you think actually do it.

Often when people plan out a diet they have to weigh out their food and eat only a prescribed amount of each food, but this is not the case when you are following a raw food diet plan. Not only can you eat as much raw food as you want but you can have foods that are tasty to eat and that will provide your body with plenty of nutrition. You can reduce your weight, improve your health and feel younger within days of starting to eat a raw food diet.

Many people have not considered using a raw food diet plan to improve their health or lose weight. Many people think its difficult to change the way they eat, but with a well planned out raw food diet plan, eating well can not only be convenient but affordable. Breakfast with a Raw Food Diet Plan

A quick breakfast can be composed of two cups of green vegetables spinach, broccoli, and lettuce. This is basically a quick salad that has your preferred flavor added by either a salad dressing or yogurt to add flavor. Place them in the blender; possibly you may want to add a squeeze of lemon or lime and a sliced fruit. Mix for twenty seconds, pour and enjoy. This is a delicious smoothie that will give you plenty of energy every day, as well as provide you with plenty important nutrients. This takes about 5 minutes to prepare and drink, if you want more substance to this quick breakfast consider adding soy protein powder or oats.

Lunch with a Raw Food Diet Plan

A raw food lunch could be made of lettuce wraps stuffed with carrot slices, banana and avocado combined with a small bag of mixed unsalted nuts. For your drink, try a carrot or tomato vegetable juice. You could even make the juice yourself in about 10 minutes and this includes clean up. Another great idea is a bag of 3-4 different types of vegetable slices. Choose the ones you like and do not be afraid to venture out a little. The variety will keep things interesting. Personally, I have tried things I have only seen in whole-foods-type grocery stores that I could barely keep down. They had me running for the sink to spit it out, but that is all part of the experience when you try out a raw food diet plan.

Dinner with a Raw Food Diet Plan

Dinner could consist of zucchini pasta together with pesto sauce accompanied by a side dish made of almond flour garlic bread and then for dessert, banana ice cream. For the zucchini pasta, simply peel the zucchini and mix it in with your noodles. This pesto sauce is usually a quick mix of garlic, pine nuts and extra virgin olive oil. An easy way to make banana ice cream is to freeze a couple of bananas then peel them and puree through the blender. This surprisingly gives you very much the same consistency as ice cream; just make sure to eat it while it is still cold.

I love to eat. No doubt about it. So when I made the commitment to switch to a raw food diet plan, I took into consideration all of the things I used to like to eat like, burgers and fries, sandwiches and any kind of chips and dip and some kind of thick pasta sauce with fettuccine noodles. In place of these, through trial and error, I created my own veggie burger recipe and oven baked a potato cut into the shape of fries and sprinkled with a little sea salt. My favorite sandwich now is several kinds of leafy green vegetables, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, green peppers and whatever other veggie I can fit on two slices of whole wheat bread accompanied with thinly sliced, oven baked and slightly sea salted potato slices that are surprisingly crisp when baked just long enough and I now use vegetable based pasta with a little olive oil and tomatoes in place of the heavier traditional thick sauces.

So be creative and use your imagination. You will be surprised at what raw foods can do for you not only for the health benefits but you will also enjoy the true tastes that Mother Nature intended them to have.

It has been discovered that whenever you feel the emotions of anger, anxiety and grief are taking over your mind and body you should start doing breathing exercise for at least ten times and you would see how all the emotions settle down. Now you know that with breathing techniques you can alter the way you feel about any situation or a thing. You can let go the fear, anxiety, and stress just by deep breathing.

There is a relationship between your emotions and the chemistry of your body. Change occurring in one would lead to a corresponding alteration in other. It has also been discovered that the way you breathe can determine your time to get healed. The Ancient people realized that those people who were breathing deeply were healed more quickly.
